Buttressing the Berm

An interim solution has reinforced the berm of the KPVA retention pond at the spillover to the St. Joseph County (SJC) retention pond. The eroding berm was buttressed by excess river rock being removed from an adjacent property's landscaping. The Construction Supervisor for the SJC Office of County Surveryor/Drainage Board approved the KPVillas action as County funding is lacking to correct shortcomings in the SJC pond.

The improvement was done with approval from the KPVA Board and at no cost to the Association.

Foegley Landscape workers scooped clean rocks into a loader, hauled it to two areas marked with orange paint, spread the load, and tamped it down with the weigh of the loader.

Orange paint defines an area to be filled with stone.

Loads of river rock fill in degraded berm.
