The Morton Arboretum notes, "Freeman’s maple is a hybrid of red maple and silver maple; the cross yields both the strong branch attachment of the red maple and the fast growth rate of the silver maple."

The felled maple was near the intersection of the parcel owned by KPVA and adjoining properties. Prior to planting, the ground was marked via Indiana 811. The new location had to consider the old stump and roots, topography, and the marked utilities along the easement.

The homeowners of Lots 13 and 14 paid for the purchase, delivery, and installation of the new 2-inch balled and burlapped tree after completing an Exterior Modification Request.
